Hi Derek, I cannot confirm if all the Hardy's were tape, however, I can tell you that our Hardy was fitted with tape and while we (Angie) was anti fouling the hull, we decided to remove it as it needed replacing, boy what a job that was as it had clearly been on for some time, had a few different coats of different colour antifoul painted on it and had gone brittle, so getting an edge on it to remove it was almost impossible, so it was a case of mm by mm removal, some 40 foot of it!
Then we fitted some exterior masking tape so the new antifoul didn't paint over the line and then left it on too long so that we had the same issue when it came to removing that! (Doh!)
(If this post copies more than once, Angie is working on how to stop this issue as she's had to remove other copied submissions!)

It wasn't in the best of condition but probably didn't need replacing until I started tinkering about with it thinking it was paint! Live and learn!

It is white tape, does it need replacing?

I have been advised that Hardy used white tape to create the white line. I think I'll do the same, easier than painting!

Learning a lot about my Pilot 20 which is out of the water for first time. Today I was busy trying to remove the white paint line that runs between the boot line and the topsides. It actually seems to be white tape and not paint!
Is this original?
