The port engine on my 2001 Hardy Commander 32 suffered a catastrophic oil loss and now makes a horrible and very expensive noise after refilling with oil. The engine is a Yanmar 6LP-DTE 250 hp and I am looking at my options.

The engine is now obsolete and parts such as a long block appear difficult to source, Does anyone have any intelligence on where a running engine or long block or short block might be obtained, Anything lurking in the back of your garage?
