Hi Col - thanks for the tip.
The transom well is completed: next are harbour trials, remote steering set-up and then sea trials. Should be interesting.
Cheers
Henry

Hi Henry, a brave thing you do here and not one I would personally agree with but each to their own!

Try 'Googling' Transom well/splash well modification, there is a wealth of information contained on there for ideas, hopefully you will find what you need there!

Afternoon All
I've cut down the transom, plugged the hole where the outdrive used to be, and and mounted the outboard.
Now just pondering a design for the well. Probably just a box made from marine ply. Henry

Morning All

I've removed the inboard diesel engine from my Navigator, and am in the process of cutting down the transom and fitting a well to accommodate a small outboard engine. This will hang on its bracket over the transom.

Does anyone have experience of designing and installing a simple and rugged transom well ?

(I've heard it called a "splashwell", but at sea one might expect more than a splash.)

Henry
