David, glad you like the look. Yes I used Sikaflex and gave it a good 72 hours to go off before I dared screw the new boards on. So far they're still there, 2 years on!

Derek, apologies not necessary!! I've done my wheelhouse roof and followed your suggestion of using leatherette/vinyl. I thought it looked quite good bearing in mind I had to use the old but warped boards as a template. Got it all fixed up after gluing new wooden blocks to the roof to screw the roof panels in only to discover the adhesive I used had failed after 3 days and the panels came loose!!!! I used CT1 adhesive but I'm going to have to re-do it with good old Sikaflex 291i. Fingers crossed! BTW which adhesive did you use?

Thank you Derek for your input. I think I'm probably going to go down the same route as you i.e with vinyl/leatherette. Interesting thought about grey. Hadn't considered that! Any chance of a photo of your installation?

I ripped out the crumbling roof lining in the wheel house of my Pilot 20 a while ago. The plywood underneath was water damaged and discoloured. I removed that and used it as a template to replace it using marine ply.
Then bought faux leatherette type vinyl material, I used a light grey, there's loads available on the net. Got some fabric glue and stuck it to the ply and hey presto! I think it looks pretty good. Professionals may not be super impressed but I'm OK with it.

I'm in the process of refurbing the roof lining in the wheel house of my Pilot 20. I've scoured the pages of the message board, but I'm no further forward. I cannot for the life of me find any fabric which gets remotely close to the stuff Hardy used originally, unless anyone else has any other ideas! One option I'm considering is to move away from a fabric lining and going over to leatherette. Has anyone else adopted this idea? I was thinking in terms of possibly either a cream or white smooth leatherette. I think the stimulus for this was looking at a Cockwells Duchy 27 which has some similarities to the Hardy Pilot (a spiritual successor???) and they have a vinyl roof lining which looks pretty good. Thoughts please... and any photos if anyone has actually replaced the fabric lining with vinyl/leatherette.
