Hi, I have just acquired a fishing 24 and in the deck locker behind the cabin doors there is a dinghy type transom plug on the bulkhead behind the diesel tank with a notice saying “remove once a week in order to remove water from the diesel tank” I have unscrewed this plug and about a litre of yellowish liquid came out.
At first I thought it was bilge cleaner but now confused.

Hi Ian,
Could you send me a photo of the windlass and I will be able to let you know.
Regards

I have a Simpson Lawrence Sprint 600 windlass fitted on my Fishing 24, which currently has 50m of 7mm chain fitted. I want to add some 12mm rope but I'm not sure if this windlass is just for chain or rope/chain. I'm assuming it was fitted from new so I wondered if anyone else has the same windlass and can confirm whether it will take rope. The manual states there are different variations of the Sprint 600 and one model takes chain only, but I can't find out which model I have. Many thanks Ian
