Hi
I have replaced the 12volt tungsten bulbs in the original dome cabin ceiling lights with 12 volt bayonet LEDs from ebay £9.50 a pair.

Bonlux 2-Pack Ba15d LED Bulb DC 12V Warm White 2700K Double Contact Bayonet SBC.

If this is what you are looking for they work very well. I have also done this with navigation lights.

Hope this helps

Keith

Ahoy Martin,
I got my replacement LED bulbs for my original cabin light fittings for my Family Pilot from Paul Crooks of JMG LED Lighting. He was a lovely guy to deal with, but this was back in January 2015, however my led lights are still going strong and I've had no problem at all with them. I would do what I did and take a picture of the fitting and existing bulb and email Paul to see if he is still at the same contact address, which used to be paulcrooks@btopenworld.com or tel : 07901852950 The website used to be www.jmgled.co.uk but I couldn't find it when I looked, however there seem to be lots of people still dealing with Paul as I did find links. Good luck and let me know how you get on, mention the Hardy Owners Club as well, because he might give you a little discount, he did used to advertise with us in the magazine.
All the best,
Marie

Anyone know where you can buy led bulbs to replace the tungsten bulbs in the original light fitting? Thanks, Martin

A big thank you to everyone for responding to my question. All very helpful comments. My original lights are all 172mm base (like Robert's). I have decided to replace them all from Force 4 (Clive's suggestion). I've ordered two LEDs for the cabin, one standard for the head compartment and one standard red/white switchable for the cockpit. Thanks again for all the help. Kind regards, Martin.

Hi Martin,
I replaced our original standard lights (bulb fittings) with the LED option from Force 4, part no. 100859, that are currently £28.95 each:
https://www.force4.co.uk/force-4-stainless-steel-surface-mounted-light-large-m.html?sqr=100859

More than happy with them; better light, better switch. However, standard bulb variant from Force 4 (see same page) is £18.95.

Definitely worth the change to LED if you have a mind. We swapped the two cabin lights and the one wheelhouse light for the LED models, but left the heads cupboard (we call it Narnia!) as the original bulb fitting as it was/is still in fairly good condition, and, well, the light doesn't need to be on for all that long......

Martin, Robert,

As all things boat, not all fittings are exactly the same.

I purchased two 316 grade mirror polished S/S cabin lights 125mm dia. from RIde the Waves £33.79, including £5.00 postage. They have discount codes offers. I managed to get £7 off.

Light fittings were same dimensions as old cabin fittings on HFP 20 from https://www.ridethewaves.co.uk

Regards,

Kenny

Hi Martin
I have a Family Pilot and mine are 172mm but sorry I don’t know if all Pilots are the same.
As long as it’s the same or slightly larger it will cover any marks the old one will leave on your headlining.
Sorry I can’t be of more help.
Kind regards
Robert.

Many thanks Robert. I've found them Callisto Marine website. Is the 172mm base the same size as the originals do you know? My boat is a 2 hours drive away so won't be able to check until next weekend.
Thanks again & kind regards, Martin.

Hi Martin
Have a look on eBay, seller Callisto 5834. They have got 172mm stainless steel base dome lights that should do the job. £18.99.
I’ve bought items off this seller before
Kind regards
Robert.

Has anyone replaced the original dome cabin lights with new ones of the same dimensions (diameter of the base)? Any brand recommendations would be very much appreciated.
Regards, Martin.
