Thanks folks for all your answers.

In addition I had the following from Windboats Marine -
"You are correct on the length berth theory of these two, but these are the only two which follow this pattern I have been told.
I have attached copies of the old brochures of these two boats for you.
The light blue rope was indeed an option when new."

Well I think I now understand some of the reason for the variations.

Dear Terry,
I am a former employee of Hardy Marine from 1983 to 1990.
The answer to your first question is There is not a database as such for the Hardy Seawings range.
The answer to your second question is That the length of the Hardy 25 was the boat length excluding the bathing platform as not all 25's had bathing platforms. The Seawings 194 was its length as before it became the seawings 194 it was the Hardy Regatta 19 and it was only a 2 berth cruiser.
The different in width specs related to whether it had a rope fender or not as later boats had rubber fendering around the area where the rope fender which fitted.
The blue rope fender was not an original fit and was put on later by a later owner.

Kind Regards

Simon

I believe the Seawings number relates to LOA, so mine is a 234 and measures 23.4 feet.

My rope fender is a very dark navy blue but I know that this is aftermarket.

Terry
I'm sorry that I don't know about the Seawings but I do know that the 'Hardy xx' numbers, although notionally related to length in feet, do not include the bathing platform if fitted, the anchor on the bow roller and the projection of. the pulpit rail over the bow.

As a newcomer to the Hardy world I already have three questions.
1. Is there a site, database or document that gives definitive dimensions for the various types of Hardys. I ask because looking through numerous sales specs I have seen for example the beam of a Seawings 234 shown as anything between 8' 6" to 9' 3".
2. How are the Seawings named. I assume a Hardy 25 would be 25' in length o/a but is a 194 then 19' 4" or something more subtle like 19' with 4 berths or something else.
3. I have seen a Seawings with a blue rope fender. Was that a factory option or has it been painted/dyed subsequently?

All very confusing.
