I have an opinion on the use of any type of BBQ on a boat. I just have never understood why anyone would think the use of what is essentially an open fire on a boat is a good idea. I don't care if the BBQ cost a fortune and is hung over the transom, its plain daft, but some won't learn.

A very sobering article! I heartily agree - BBQs should be left very firmly, and thoroughly enjoyed with a beer or two, in the open air at home, or elsewhere out in the open. Not on a boat.

Please PLEASE be aware of the dangers of portable BBQ packs/buckets. They can produce enough Carbon Monoxide to kill you. Also DO NOT BE TEMPTED TO BRING A BBQ UNDER YOUR BOAT CANOPY http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-33976414
