Thanks for the feedback Gents. I am sure as I find my way around this little boat, I will be back to ask a load more questions :-) Really good to have a group of knowledgeable owners to call on. mark

Hi, I think my Navigator is the same as yours - the two door parts are joined vertically with a hinge are folded together. But as you say to remove the sliding hatch you remove the door from the hinges. Did seem a little strange to me but helps with security I guess. Phil

Although my Hardy is a 2002 Bosun, there may be enough similarity in the cabin doors to be of help to you. Our doors are also in two parts, but most definitely not plywood. The lower door is mounted on long-pin hinges and when lifted upwards, comes away completely. On its hinges it is held closed by a simple sliding bolt and then resembles a stable door in the companionway. The upper door is of similar construction, but is loose and buts on to the door frame and the lower door. It is locked in place by two sliding bolts and the lowered hatch. At sea we stow both doors away

The Navigator that I am buying appears to be in original condition, but the cabin door is made up of 2 separate pieces of plywood, held in place by sliding door bolts. You physically remove the 2 parts of the door to open up the cabin. Is this how it was built? It looks like there should be a proper opening door on hinges ? mark
