Ahoy Neil, I have just posed a notice on our HOC Facebook page to promote the Bristol Festival and asked if any HOC members who might be interested in meeting up could contact me. If they do, shall I give them your email address, or would you rather I make a note of their details and forward those to you? Great idea this and thanks for suggesting it. All the best to you, HOC Ed.

Are there any other Hardy Owners who would like to meet up at the Bristol Harbour Festival - July 17th-19th in Bristol docks? Neil (with an obvious self interest - living in Bristol!)

Hello all This is not so much a boat meet but to ask if anyone is navigating the River Thames from the Thames barrier to Southend from now to the end of the year. Thanks Rob

Hi Rich, How is everybody? Please send me an email about this to remind me and I will place a notice in the next magazine as well. Might as well add it to our Facebook page and the 'News' page at the same time. It would be good to get ourselves organized for a few more meets this year. The more the merrier. We may even be able to arrange such treats as Hardy boat exchanges this season with some of our European members - watch this space..... All the best, Marie HOC Ed.

Hi folks Wondering about sorting out a day cruise in company from Thames Ditton area upstream or down this summer. I confess to being rubbish at checking the forum, so if there is anyone who would definably be up for it, please drop me an email via Richard AT warspite.org. I am probably thinking June time Hope everyones boats are safe Rich

Big Announcement: The next Hardy Boat Meet will be on August the 31st, and will be on the lower non tidal Thames within the Hampton Court area. All welcome.., Two boats have confirmed today - Puffin 1 and Callisto, I'll be contacting local members to drum up some additional interest.. More details to follow as plans come together in the next week or two. It's be a relaxed meet to just cruise about, relax and enjoy. If the sun is out then great, if it's raining then the Wheelhouses will come in to play! Hopefully this will be the first of many - with the possibility of a Southcoast meet later in the year.

Hi Simon This all sounds good. After removing the propeller, taking it to be repaired, refitting it, flushing he engine, fitting a "Scare Gull" to keep those seagulls from decorating my canopy, then having someone help me change the impeller and gear oil, the boat is ready to go. I looking forward to some tidal Thames trips as well as upper Thames trips. all the best Rob

Hi Marie. Excellent, sounds like we're forming something up here! The first of Many I hope! Was was buzzed by a Family Pilot called Rascal today while working at Wargrave - I waved vigourously, but of course they had no idea I was HOC... Shame. Si.

Hi Robert. I hope you're well. I've been so busy (and without internet for weeks!!) but just getting around to thinking about this again!! The boat is still laid up from the winter (I know, very Bad), but hopefully I'll have one up and running in the next few weeks - so - maybe a July / August Meet? Firebird, Blue Chip, Warspite, Hartford and a number of others are all very local - so we'll I'll need to get contacting!! Best Regards Simon.

Hi Simon, I'm so glad that you have made this post as I would really love to see the HOC members organising some meets again. You are quite right that years ago this was the norm and we seem to have lost the habit of getting together socially. It would be good to revive this event amongst the members and help to promote these get togethers for them, wherever they are around the country - or indeed abroad. I have previously placed a notice in the Hardy Owner magazine inviting members to let us know if they were having a meet, but there has been little response. One or two members have tried - Judy Morgan and Janet Cox in Poole in 2011, and John Sutton and Andrew Barwick invited other Hardy Owners to meet at Kingston or at a nearby Thameside pub in 2012. So, if any HOC members would like to either promote a meet in their area, or would like help organising one, please get in touch with us. Let's make an effort in 2013 to reinstate the lovely idea of meeting with other owners for a chat, drink or perhaps a BBQ. All the very best to everyone this season. Marie HOC Ed.

Dear All Hardy'ers. Years ago, the HOC was very active with meets. These were often in Poole and on the broads, and were a great informal occasion for Hardys to get together and a couple of hours chat. It's clear this doesn't happen at the moment, but I see there are many Hardys and members in the same areas.. so is there an appetite for having a few informal meets - just for fun, swap ideas, have a chat, maybe a pub lunch etc nothing serious...?? Indeed, Hardy Marine have a cruise each year for the "Big Boats" - I think it would be really great if we could have something for HOC Members. I note Poole, Chichester, Lower Thames, Upper Thames and Medway all have plenty of potential for meets between 2 and 10 boats...I'm sure there are lots more areas too.... maybe you already have meets - it'll be great to hear about them.. I intend contacting a few owners - and maybe organising something locally to me if there's an appetite.. It just so happens there are a couple of pubs locally with moorings...and a marina also happy to host a hardy meet all on the Lower Thames. So, love to hear your views.. Best Regards Simon.
