Last year I promised to report back on the recommendation to use weedkiller to stop moss & weeds growing on the rope fender when our Hardy 25 is stored ashore over the winter. Well it seems to work ! We had no growth, even under the bulwark drains where the rain runs over the rope. We did get a bit of a gunge, which needs cleaning off once a month, but nothing actually growing (and consuming) the rope. Again this Autumn (so far) no growth. So this is something we shall continue throughout the lay up. Get gardening hardy owners !
