I just bought a short cabin 1985 Hardy Fisher 24 but it didn't come with an operators manual. I have contacted Hardy Marine to see if they could send me one but not holding out much hope as the boat was made in 1985 and may have been many iterations of models since then. My question - there is an underfloor compartment in the cabin which had some liquid in it when I bought the boat though I don't know if the liquid was water or some cleaning fluid put in there to clean up some muck in the compartment and the fluid hadn't been removed. Or is the compartment somehow attached to the bilge such that it is not uncommon to find water in it? I need to know if this is supposed to be a dry compartment before I put anything in there. Also there is a cable running through it from top to bottom - is this a lightning rod or electrical wiring? Thanks, Tim
