Richard, It is possible, though Marine did a great article a few years back on fitting a Webasto to her Pilot - that might give you a few cues. I fitted an Eberspacher to my old Navigator and was very happy with the install. I'm going to be fitting a Propex to My Hardy 25 this winter. The key is siting the heater - if you have a Family Pilot SE, it shouldn't be too difficult, and Family Pilot with the under quarter berth might be a bit more difficult to site that heater box. Call me (details on front pages of the HOC mag) and I'll have a chat - as it does depend on a few items. Best Regards Simon.

I have taken a couple of pictures of our refurbished cockpit hatches/seats/table and flooring (see first post above) which I hope will be appearing in the gallery (second section) shortly. There are a couple of points to make - firstly, the table/seat is supported on a batten at each end, and I reinforced the underside with a 5cm-wide strip of aluminium to avoid any possible damage to the table end joints. Secondly, as I didn't want to use epoxy to fix the Treadmaster (too final), and I wanted more adjustment 'slip' than contact adhesive would allow, I spoke to Treadmaster who suggested Sikaflex 291. It works a treat. Just applied around the edges, and some across the middle. It might not be the best solution on deck in a high-stress area, but for cockpit floor it's fine.....Tim. These images have been added in the Interior section of the Gallery - webmaster

Clive, I'll try to take some pics now that I have the flooring down also - it's a great improvement! As yours is a diesel, you won't need the centre seat/table. Tim.

Our recently-acquired 1996 Pilot SE has needed some TLC in the cockpit, especially where the blue carpet and the hatch covers/table seat were concerned. I was impressed by the ideas shown on http://www.shorebase.co.uk/boating/hardy/hardy.asp , but felt that the woodwork would take me time that I wanted to spend on other things. After some research, I commissioned the four hatch covers plus the table/centre seat from K.J. Howells and Son (www.kjhowells.com). They recommended teak-edged teak decking backed with 9mm ply. I have to say that the quality of their work is superb, and that they went out of their way to meet my exact requirements. I wouldn't recommend this as a low-cost option, mind (you get what you pay for) but their service was excellent. I'll try to post some pics somewhere when the fitting and trims are complete, and the light grey Treadmaster flooring is in place. Budget nearly all gone now!
