My completely rebuilt 1983 Hardy 25 is fitted with a diesel Volvo Penta 3000 MD17 with Saildrive. It's probably been there since new. The engine now uses oil, loses oil, blows black smoke out of the exhaust at anything over 2000 revs (therefore limiting speed to 5mph max), and a couple of other things. I want to either replace the engine with a brand new one, or replace it with a reconditioned one, or have the current engine reconditioned.
