After doing some work on my 5hp Mariner 2-stroke, I decided to test it on my Pilot. The motor would not rev out very well. I was getting about 1.5 to 2 knots on the GPS. It revs fine in neutral. After some head scratching and some googling, I now think that I have the wrong prop on the motor. I haven't checked, but think that I have the standard 8" prop that is suitable for driving tenders. I think I may need a 6" pitch and maybe a 'sail drive' prop. Can anyone give me any advice on this please? Anyone know what pitch they are using on their backup engine? Cheers, Andy
