Iain Congratulations on your new purchase. That's very interesting. It seems that Hardy were maybe hoping to shift alot more. I think I came across your boat on one of the websites. It seemed very different in style but had some of the trademark Hardy details. Keep us posted on how you get on and maybe post some photos on the Gallery if you get a chance. Cheers Andy

Andy, Hardy replied to my e-mail. Apparently the 5 that were built were for an Italian agent and were built to his specification(inboard diesel on shaft drive etc) In the end for commercial reasons he only took 2.Of the remaining 3 one went to Holland and one to Belgium,I think, that left one which was fitted with the Volvo engine, the others all had Fiat diesels. We have now bought her and as far as we can understand we have the only Hardy Fishing 22 in the UK! Regards, Iain.

Interesting. I've never heard of a Fishing 22. Do you have a web link? Hardy could give you some info possibly.

We are looking at the possibility of purchasing a Hardy Fishing 22 as a replacement for our Pilot "Cumbrae Pilot". The Fishing 22 has an inboard 78hp Volvo Penta on a shaft drive and in many respects looks like a suitable upgrade for us (more cockpit space etc).We have one concern however as the survey report states that she was one of only 5 built. Does anyone know why this was the case? was there a problem with these boats? Is there anyone who owns one of these who can give us some comfort Apart from the above comment the survey report is all OK. Can anyone help? Regards Iain.
