I got my Gullsweep from a href="http://www.outboardservices.co.uk" http://www.outboardservices.co.uk /a as well and am relieved to not have to clean that beastly muck off my boat any more. They have all sorts of attachments that can fit in any situation.

Excellent - glad it worked. There are a few folk at our club using the gullsweep now and so far, wonderful results. Actually, we spotted it first in Fowey, not too far from you.

Thank you Damian and Kerry As it happens - just after I had posted the question - I came across the gullsweep mentioned by Kerry, having noticed them on other boats as they took to the water. I put one on the wheelhouse roof (with a special clamp to the VHF aerial fitting - no need to drill). It worked so well I then fitted another on the foredeck hatch, this time with the unobtusive bracket supplied. Pricey, but if you've had the pleasure of cleaning up after Falmouth town centre seagulls .........................................

Hi Tony, Type 'gullsweep' into google. Brilliant device - works like a charm. Got mine from OSM at Lostwithiel. (http://www.outboardservices.co.uk/scarer.htm) for £34.95. Hope this helps.

Does anyone have any suggestions to keep seagulls off my FP, particularly off the top of the wheelhouse? I have recently moved from the Truro river ( very little problem ) to a swinging inner harbour mooring at Falmouth. Have tried ribbons on rope and CD's but the gulls appear to quite like them! Any helpful ideas / leads to obtain items etc. to keep my Pilot as it should be would be much appreciated.

Approx.£10 at your local DIY store will buy you fine green garden mesh. Cut or rip it to suit your FP and either roll it up or leave it intact when you go out in the boat. Terns and Cormorants were my biggest problem. Of course I fitted mine about 3 days after the Terns migrated... this season we'll see.
