Hi Ronan,
I have a pilot 20 running on the Thames. I think you will find the outboard leg will hit bottom before the keel. I allow 2'6

I own a Hardy Navigator and was cruising on a canal last weekend ( Easter ), I was recovering the boat when a Harry Enfield type ( You don't want to do it like that!) told me that in the summer I might have trouble with the draft of my boat, that she was a sea boat and had no business on the canal! I'm new to boating and wasn't sure what he was talking about but I looked at the hardy website and see that the draft of the ''Bosun'' is 1ft 3 in - I take it that a smaller navigator would be less? What is the deal with draft in terms of shallow water ( I thought the prop would dictate how shallow I could go ) and how does additional passengers affect the draft? Is the keel solid or is it hollow like the hull?
Thanks in advance.
Ronan.
